This course provides a comprehensive introduction to networking, covering the installation, configuration, operation, and verification of basic IPv4 and IPv6 networks. Learners will gain hands-on experience configuring network components such as switches, routers, and wireless LAN controllers while also learning how to manage network devices and identify basic security threats.

The training includes an introduction to AI and machine learning in network operations, preparing participants for modern networking challenges. The course consists of five days of instructor-led training and approximately three days of self-paced study. Digital courseware is provided, along with lab access, which remains valid for 60 hours or 90 days, whichever is shorter.

This learning path prepares learners for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (200-301 CCNA) v1.1 exam. Upon passing the exam, participants earn the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.

Goal

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Identify and describe the components of a computer network
  • Explain the host-to-host communication model
  • Describe the features and functions of Cisco IOS software
  • Configure and manage LANs, switches, and routers
  • Implement IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, subnetting, and connectivity
  • Configure and verify VLANs, trunks, and inter-VLAN routing
  • Implement static and dynamic routing using Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
  • Understand spanning tree protocol (STP) and rapid spanning tree protocol (RSTP)
  • Configure link aggregation using EtherChannel
  • Describe WAN and VPN technologies
  • Implement network security measures, including access control lists (ACLs) and threat defense technologies
  • Configure DHCP, network address translation (NAT), and basic quality of service (QoS)
  • Explain wireless network concepts and manage wireless LAN controllers
  • Describe network virtualization, software-defined networking, and network programmability
  • Implement basic system monitoring, device management, and security hardening techniques
  • Explore AI and machine learning applications in network operations

Prerequisites

Before taking this course, learners should have:

  • Basic computer literacy
